Photography & Travel
On our many travels, we usually combine our hobbies into one wonderful experience.
Doing our “homework” before the journey, learning about interesting places to be visited,
the routes, reading maps etc.
Amateur Radio usually puts us in touch with the ‘locals’ which allows us to get special on
the spot information, many times resulting in meetings in various places. Getting the
opportunity of discussing and exchanging views of the locality.
Photography puts our experiences and adventures on digital storage medium. Upon our
return home, we enjoy our journeys again and again, as we see the collection of pictures,
running the video films, it allows us to re-live the wonderful moments
time and again.
Countries visited range from: Scandinavia in the North, South Africa in the South,
China in the East, Hawaii in the West.
After most journey’s a “log” is written about the travels, highlighted with pictures and
other memorabilia of that particular excursion.
For photography, a simple Nikon D50 reflex camera and sometimes a smaller Olympus
digital camera is being used. For video recordings, a Soni digital camcorder is in use.
No professional equipment, just simple.
It is the location, the moment, and the operator’s eye, that are the important assets.

Over the years, various "States " have been visited.
These visit have been made at different times, mostly during our visits to
the United States. We come here on a regular basis at least once a year if
not more. Our immediate family lives in New York outside the City limits. Our
usual stay with them for more than a month and in which time we usually go
somewhere else for a few days or a week, to visit friends and /or to see
special sights and to get to know the different area's of this vast Country.
