Rafting Sangri La Himalaya Mountains

The flight, is approaching Katmandu airport.
From high up, one already gets a most wonderful view from the highest
mountains in the world.
The capital of Nepal is actual a combination of 3 different cities, called
‘Patan’ ‘Katmandu’ and ‘Bhaktapur’ grown into one.
I noticed that it was not cold at all, as I had thought being so high above
sea level.
We had to move the clock by 15 minutes ahead as the local time is later
than India time.
At a certain predetermined spot, the group stopped, the more courageous
ones among us, dressed up with life vest, helmet, and followed the local
guides, through some vegetable fields to the banks of the “Trisuli” river.
We are going to do some white water rafting. Lining up before the rubber
rafts, we get some instructions, a lot of joking is taking place, we get into
the flexible dinghy. We were assured by the local guides in each raft,
that we would not get wet, maybe a small sprinkling or so.
Needless to say, that we all came out soaked with the ice cold water.
The Trisuli river, is one of the many Himalayan rivers, originating from
the majestic Himalayas snow covered peaks.
This river is one of the tributaries of the “Ganges”.
We arrived in Pokhara, and stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel.
All our soaking wet clothes went at once to the local cleaners and we
received them back the same evening, it was a fantastic service.
A most beautiful place, the layout, the gardens and surroundings, the view
of the Himalayan mountain peaks. A real “Garden of Eden”.
