| Welcome to 4X6KJ Amateur Radio Station Among the many hobbies & activities, this page will deal exclusively with Amateur Radio. A hobby which has captured my interest and keeps me occupied. I.A.R.C. Logo My Amateur Radio license was issued to me in 1983 under the call sign of 4X6KJ. In 1983, I joined the Executive of the Israel Amateur Radio Club, as "Membership Services". In 1989, I was elected Chairman of the I.A.R.C. A position that I held until the beginning of 1997, at the Annual General Meeting of that year, I passed the reigns of management to another suitable team. During the 8 years of administration, and thanks to the Members of the Executive and the general membership of the club that volunteered to help, the Club has made enormous progress in all fields that encompass the amateur radio hobby. Representation to International Conferences. Attendance to the yearly "Ham Radio" exhibition in southern Germany. Entering into the European licensing agreement "CEPT". Arranging and hosting the I.A.R.U. Region 1 Conference in Tel Aviv. Last but not least, active participation in planning, programming and building our first "TechSat" satellite, which was successfully launched, just to mention a few of the important milestones. It has been a long standing dream of Ruth, 4X4CM and myself to bring the tri-annual IARU Region 1 Conference to Israel. After long and laborious (3 years) work the above mentioned Conference took place in Tel Aviv, the first week of October 1996. It was a huge success, with Delegates coming from all over the Amateur Radio World, to participate in this event. At the Annual General Meeting of 2000, I was again elected to the leadership position which I held until the Annual General Meeting of 2008. At that meeting I resigned from all my duties after having served for 25 years in the IARC Executive. Some of the Delegates, IARU Conference 1996 The highlight of my amateur radio career certainly must be what is known as "The JY74X Operation"(July 1995) See the story in one of the following Amateur Radio Publications.
