Czech Republic
The flight left Tel Aviv in the late afternoon of a nice warm sunny day
arriving late in the evening at dark and cold Prague airport, going through
passport control and receiving our luggage went rather fast.
Premiant City Tours gave us a 3½ hour orientation tour of the City we
started to understand the layout of the city in all its parts, quarters etc.
We visited the Prague Castle is where the Kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman
Emperors and Presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic have
had their offices. The Old Town Square, the Old Jewish Quarter, in
Prague is the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe, opened in 1439 and closed
in 1787, Wenceslas Square the elegant boulevard, Crossed the "Charles
Bridge", visited "the Lesser City" etc. The subway system is cheap, clean
and modern. Listened to a concert in The Municipal House. In short we
have been busy all day and every day, there is so much to see & do.
Also made trips outside of the Capital.
Visited:
Theresienstadt, the infamous concentration camp of World War II.
Karlovy Vary, were hot spring geysers are everywhere.
Kutna Hora, the silver mining town of the Middle Ages.
Just to mention a few.
